Sewer Backup in a Southwest Missouri School

A sewer backup caused damage to this southwest Missouri school basement. SERVPRO of Carthage-Joplin quickly responded and extracted the unsanitary mess left by the backup. 

Sewer backup is considered a category 3 loss meaning all porous materials are considered un-salvageable and must be professionally removed with trained technicians wearing protective gear. 

The top priority when working in schools is the safety of the students. Containment areas were set up around the affected area so cross contamination with the rest of the school was held to a minimum.
