Washing Machine Drain Leak Causes Mold
This washing machine drain was partially clogged allowing water to back up the drain into the utility box and onto the drywall. Being behind the appliance the problem was not quickly detected and mold began to grow over time.
SERVPRO technicians built containment to divide off the laundry room from the rest of the home to prevent possible cross contamination during the remediation process. The affected materials were demoed, bagged, and removed from the property. The rest of the area was vacuumed with HEPA filtration, wet washed, and vacuumed a second time. Once the drywall was repaired and painted the home owners were back in business keeping clothes clean for their family.
